IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank P.
Dawkins, Jr.
July 9, 1942 – January 17, 2022
Haverhill: Frank P. Dawkins, Jr., 79, a longtime resident of the Bradford section of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Lahey Hospital, Burlington, after an unfortunate fall at home, doing what he loved the most, renovations.
Frank was born in Haverhill, son of the late Frank P. and Dorothy (Walsh) Dawkins and was a 1960 graduate of Haverhill High School. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Fitchburg State College, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Frank worked as a Design Draftsman for many companies throughout the years including MIT and Polaroid. He also owned a cleaning and window company called F&M Cleaning. Those customers whose windows were gleaming in Haverhill and Bradford, surely used Frank Dawkins. He had no fear and was regularly found on many sized ladders with his children or grandchildren working right beside him.
Frank was an avid Red Sox fan and the one job he loved every spring was working for the Red Sox Spring Training. He would tell stories of all the players, what kind of cars they drove, who was nice and who wasn't and who had the prettiest wives. He treasured this job most of all. Frank and Maureen were regular snowbirds to Royal Wood Golf and Country Club in Naples, Florida. They made so many lasting friendships during their annual escape to the warmer weather.
Frank's love for his family showed in the many trips he took to see his children and grandchildren. He would drive to Vermont, Onset, MA, Canton, MA, New Hampshire and East Falmouth, MA, always happy to be driving "Miss Maureen" anywhere she wanted to go. He was always dressed up for the Holidays and usually had many hot dishes in his hands to bring in to his eagerly waiting family. He was very smart! His outstanding Mathematics aptitude helped many of his young grandchildren and neighbors through difficult Math and Algebra classes over the years.
Frank will be missed in so many ways and by so many people whose lives he has touched. Frank was classy, a good cook, a great driver, hardworking and most of all, the best husband, father and grandfather.
Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Maureen (Grant) Dawkins of Bradford, MA, his son, Stephen Dawkins of Hyannis, his daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndi and Michael Casey of East Falmouth, and Jodi and Steven Cicchese of Onset, his sister and brother-in-law, Ann Marie and Robert Pigeon of Haverhill. Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Colleen "Kelly" Lavigne in 2000. Frank's pride and joy were his grandchildren: Catherine Casey, Cameron St Laurent, Patrick Casey, Alec St Laurent, Brett Casey, Brendan St Laurent, Jessica Dawkins, Erin Lavigne, Shauna Lavigne and Shannon Dawkins. His late grandson, Lyndon St Laurent was waiting for him with his Auntie Kelly at the pearly gates of Heaven.
