Cormier

Haverhill: Frank J. Cormier, 95, a resident of Haverhill for most of his life, died August 8, 2023 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, son of the late Francis F. and Eva (Boudreau) Cormier, he was raised in Haverhill and attended Saint Joseph Grammar School. His family relocated to Canada for several years, when he was a young man, and he returned to Haverhill in 1943. Mr. Cormier served in the U.S. Army from March of 1946 until September of 1947, stationed in the Far East. As a member of the 54th Military Police CO., he served honorably and was a recipient of The World War Two Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan).
Following his discharge from the service, Mr. Cormier returned to Haverhill and was first employed at Wilson Co, and later at Western Electric Co. and Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co in Lawrence. He later established the Haverhill Beef Co. on Winter Street in Haverhill and served as its owner and President for twenty-eight years, until his retirement.
A longtime member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, he was also a life Member of the Lorraine Post of the VFW, and a member of the Hannah Duston Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and the Haverhill Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, trapping and dancing with his late wife, Rolande.
Predeceased in 2014 by his beloved and devoted wife of sixty-six years, Rolande Y. (Roy) Cormier, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bradford Johnson of Newbury, NH, two grandchildren, Eric Johnson and his longtime companion, Sarah Teaves and Kirsten (Johnson) Pfeifer and her husband, Daniel, all of New York City, his dear friend, Betty Salerno of Atkinson, NH, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Ida Parisi and Irene Ryan and brothers, James Cormier, George Gallant and Fred Gallant.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home and followed by burial with Military Honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
