Hampstead, NH: Francis L. "Hank" Hastings, Jr., age 74, of Hampstead, NH, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with his devoted wife by his side, at Advent Health Center in Orlando, Florida. Born at the Patuxent River Naval Base, Maryland, Hank was raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and was the son of the late Francis L. and Bertie (Bradburn) Hastings. A member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1969, Hank's career began as a summer job. In 1976, Hank and his wife, Linda, established Hastings Floor Covering in Georgetown, and together operated and expanded their business, presently operating out of their showroom and warehouse in Groveland, MA.
An avid NASCAR fan, Hank and his wife have attended the Daytona 500 Race every year since 2001. He also enjoyed watching all New England sports, especially enjoying college football. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Hank enjoyed dining out and appreciated and looked forward to the time that he spent with his growing family. Hank was greatly loved and admired by his children and grandchildren. He found joy in his work and the people that he worked with, that included several family members, and enjoyed yearly trips to his vacation home in Florida over the last twenty years.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Linda (Troian) Hastings, and will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith P. and Sara Hastings of Haverhill and Kevin F. and Melissa Hastings of Hampstead, NH, a daughter and son-in-law, Kristine A. and Randy Shea of Haverhill; five sisters, Barbara Dupont of Haverhill, Linda Lafreniere of Florida, Bernice Rowell and her husband Thomas of Manchester, NH, Wendy Delaney and her husband Clark of Hampstead, NH, and Bonnie Rodgers of Salem, NH; eleven grandchildren, Samantha Hastings, Andrew Hastings, Tyler Hastings, Ryan Hastings, Hannah Hastings, Dale Hastings, Maverick Dunham, Jayden Zurick, Daniel Shea, Vanessa Shea and Paul Shea; five great- grandchildren, Jasmin, Julian, Solara, Daytona and Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Hank's Life Celebration to be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.
