Francis Frangedakis, 93, a longtime resident of Plaistow, NH, died on Friday, July 18, 2025, at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Marcia (Green) Frangedakis, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
He was born in Haverhill, MA on November 18, 1931, and was the son of the late George and Demetra (Javalan) Frangedakis. He was raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1948. He proudly served his country during the Korean War by enlisting in the United States Navy. Francis served his country with honor in the Navy, taking immense pride in his service aboard a destroyer ship the USS Remey that crossed the equator—a rare accomplishment he cherished throughout his life. Francis was employed as a shipping and receiving manager for thirty-eight years at Eastern Canvas until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing 45's, poker and trips to the casino whenever possible. Francis was passionate about football and remained a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan throughout his life. He most enjoyed watching the games with his family. One of his greatest joys was bowling in a league alongside his daughter for over 25 years.
Francis is survived by his children, Steven Frangedakis of New Hampshire, and Debra Machado and her husband Wayne of Plaistow, NH, his grandchildren Nicholas Frangedakis and his wife Mayra, Julia Frangedakis, Jared Machado, Dylan Machado, and Lucas Machado, his great grandchildren Dalia Machado, Miranda Frangedakis, Veanna Kashar, Elias Frangedakis, Briggs Kashar, and Cade Kashar, and his sister Jennie Panagopoulos.
He was predeceased by his siblings Arthur Frangedakis, Coula Alexandris, Ethel Frangedakis, Olga Martinis, Speros Frangedakis, and Charlie Frangedakis.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 4pm – 7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church 154 Winter St. Haverhill, MA. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bradford, MA.
