Haverhill: Francis L. Bouvier, 91, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully on April 2, 2019 at the Northwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lowell.
Raised and educated in Haverhill, son of the late Omer and Adelaide (Archambault) Bouvier, he attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a graduate of the Haverhill Trade School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from March of 1946 until November of 1947. Mr. Bouvier received his Associates Degree in Business and later his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.
Employed first by the Haverhill Gas Company, Mr. Bouvier worked as an engineer for Bell Labs for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1986. He was a longtime member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish. He enjoyed furniture building and working around his home as well as spending time with his family at his summer home in West Harwich on Cape Cod.
Predeceased recently by his wife Shirley (Hatfield) Bouvier, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Valorie A. and Raymond Masak of North Reading, and Sheryll J. Bouvier of Haverhill, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenn Bouvier of Kentucky, Dean F. and Laurie Bouvier of Epping, NH and Warren J. and Hitomi Shimizu of Amesbury, four grandchildren, Leighann Richards, Brandon Bouvier and his wife Nicole, Bianca Bouvier and Renee Masak, a brother Adrian Bouvier of Haverhill and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert Bouvier, Paul Bouvier, Edward Bouvier and Lucien Bouvier, and sisters, Dolores Kelly, Antoinette Duff, Marie Gaudet, Florina Comeau, Helen Bouvier and Claire Bouvier.
A private family graveside service was held in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
