Forrest M. "Brownie" Brown, 90, a lifelong resident of Hampstead, NH, died on January 11, 2018 at the NH Veterans Home, Tilton, NH.

Born in Hampstead, NH, the son of Alvin and Pauline (Phillips) Brown, he attended elementary school in Hampstead and graduated from Hampstead High School.  Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Fireman First Class, aboard the USS Catskill.  He was a recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theatre medal, the American Theatre medal and a Purple Heart.  He worked for Collins Patterns and Mold Co., Fremont, NH, Hampshire Manufacturing Co., Nashua, NH, Preview Products, Manchester, NH, and the Chelmsford Shoe Co.  He retired from the New England Brace Co., Hooksett, NH, as an Orthotic Technician.

A member of the Chester Congregational & Baptist Church, he was also a former member of the Derry Pathfinders Snowmobile Club, a life member of the V.F.W. Hampstead Post #11254, and a former member of both the Danville Grange and Atkinson Grange.  He was the former Treasurer and Trail Administrator of the Rockingham Recreational Trail.  Mr. Brown enjoyed woodworking in his garage.

The husband of the late Betty (Brackett) Brown, who died in 1992 and  Dorothy (Toshach) Brown, who died in 2008, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Thomas Werb of Preston, CT, Susan Taylor of Rutland, MA and Kathy and Bruce Locke of York, ME; six grandchildren, Jennifer Werb and her husband, Anthony Pelletier, Allison Werb, Karen Marini and her husband, Anthony, Cheryl Cleary, Katie Orlando and Philip Orlando and his wife, Stacie; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beverly Brackett; and a special friend, Esther Connelly of Derry, NH.  He was pre-deceased by a brother, Roger Brown.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  A Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 PM in the funeral home with U.
