Obituary

Everett passed on October 1, 2023 at the age of 77. Born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, Everett spent the greater part of his childhood in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. After graduation from Brewster Academy, he attended Boston University and then enlisted in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970. He spent 40 of his 48 months overseas first in Germany and then in Vietnam. He was a Staff Sergeant in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division 4/39th battalion. During his time in Vietnam's Mekong Delta he was highly decorated earning three Bronze Stars, including one for Valor. Everett was also a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge as well as five Army commendation medals, three Air Medals and Unit Citations.

After his service, he returned to college, graduating from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a double major of history and education. In 1974, he took a job with Gilford Middle-High School teaching various social studies criteria until his retirement in 2005, after thirty-one years of teaching. In addition to teaching, at Gilford he coached golf, leading the team to two state championships, as well as coaching varsity girls' basketball. Everett was inducted into the NHIAA Coaches Hall of Fame as well as the Gilford Hall of Fame in 2004. A lover of all Boston sports teams; Everett was a passionate and devoted fan. He also enjoyed kayaking, golf and candlepin bowling.

Everett is survived by his three children and six grandchildren. Keri Lequin and her husband John of Marblehead, MA and their children Dylan and Ainsley. Amie Beth Edmunds and her partner Ryan Dee of Wolfeboro, NH and her sons Curtis and Nathan. Brett Edmunds and his wife Jennifer of Franklin, MA  and their children Ethan and Charlotte. He is also survived by his constant loving companion for the last twenty years Sharon Heffron.

Everett was predeceased by his parents Vertrude and Elinor (Bean) Edmunds and his sister Janet Boyce of Wolfeboro, NH who is survived by her husband Mark Boyce, and his ex-wife Wanda Gay Edmunds.

A graveside service will be held on October 18, 2023 at 12:00pm at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
