Atkinson, NH: Evelyn R. (Bourque) Cote, 80 a resident of Atkinson since 1962, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Leo and Ruth (Rice) Bourque, she attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1955. She was employed for many years as an inspector at Raytheon and had previously worked in the local shoe industry, Western Electric Co. and Dunkin Donuts.

Mrs. Cote met her husband Joseph N. Cote, at the Commodore Ball Room and immediately fell in love. He proposed that evening and they were married six months later, enjoying sixty-one happy years of marriage together. She enjoyed deep-sea fishing, sewing, making doll clothing, gardening, skiing and motorcycling and excursions to the Beach Plum for giant lobster rolls.

In addition to her husband Joseph N. Cote, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter, Shirley Leith and her husband David of Sandown, two sons, Gilbert Cote and his wife Paula of Houston, Texas, and Steven Cote and his wife Guiling of Newton, NH, a sister Arlene Arel of Missouri, grandson, Jonathan Leith and his fiancé Taryn, and step grand-daughter Ann.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Cote's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Spring at Atkinson Cemetery.
