Haverhill, MA: Evelyn A. (Desmarais) Bergeron, 97, a resident of Windham, NH and formerly of Bates Road, Haverhill, MA, died on June 6, 2018 at the Windham Terrace Nursing Home, Windham, NH.
Born in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Odilon and Eva (Desrosiers) Desmarais, she was raised and educated in Lowell, MA. She was employed as a Seamstress for Samuel Roberts Clothing, Haverhill, MA and also worked for the Gillette Company and as a Greeter at Walmart. She also worked as an amusement operator at Canobie Lake Park and Salisbury Beach.
A member of All Saints Parish, Haverhill, MA, Mrs. Bergeron enjoyed dancing with her late husband, taking walks, dining out and watching classic movies and ice skating. She also enjoyed camping at Old Orchard Beach for many years.
The widow of the late Albert E. Bergeron who died in 2000, she is survived by a son, Leonard G. Bergeron and his wife Trudy of Sharon, SC; twin daughters, Paulette Bergeron of Amesbury, MA and Pauline Bergeron of Haverhill, MA; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Edward J. Bergeron in 1960.
Relatives and friends may attend Evelyn's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 6 to 8 PM at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, Haverhill, MA. Burial will take place in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
