Obituary

Haverhill: Eva Y. (Gallant) Jarman, 80, a former longtime resident of Hermon Avenue, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late George and Julie (Payette) Gallant, she attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1958.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Eva grew up knowing it was the center of the universe and was a member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish.  She could frequently be seen walking to Saint James Church or to Sacred Heart Parish in Bradford, with her good friend Carol.

Eva worked as a Material Planner at Lucent Technologies until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of the Communication Worker of America, Local 1365 and the Telephone Pioneers.

She enjoyed the time that she spent with family and friends, going to the theatre and musicals, playing card games, especially Mah Jong with her dearest friends, Barbara, Barbara and Marilyn. During the time of her residency at Phoenix Row, Eva made many friends and enjoyed the time that she shared with them.

Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who found joy and strength in her faith, and in her caring and wonderful family, relatives and friends who supported her throughout her life and during her illness.

She raised three wonderful children, each believing that they were her favorite child, and is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Michael E Jarman, her daughter Kelly (Jarman) Eicher, her daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Jarman) and Bill Forrestsall, her grandchildren, Amanda Eicher and Jordan Eicher; step-grandchildren Zach and Ben Forrestall, her great-grandson, Brody Bradley; a sister Leonide (Gallant) Vencis Paige, her grand-dog Luke and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Georgette Brindamour, a brother Louis Gallant and step-granddaughter Darcy Forrestall.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill and followed by burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Friends of Bethany, 10-12 Phoenix Row, Haverhill, MA, Attention of Beth Morrow.
