Dallaire

Leominster: Ernest G. Dallaire, 92, a resident of Leominster for the past thirty years and formerly of Haverhill, died May 11, 2020 in Worcester.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, and son of the late Ernest and Irene (Noury) Dallaire, he was a member of Saint Joseph Parish, attended Haverhill High School and later received his Associates Degree in Business Management. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War Two and was aboard the USS Hesperia during its participation in the testing of the atomic bomb on Bikini Atoll. He was a recipient of the American Area Campaign Medal, The World War Two Victory Medal and the Asiatic and Pacific Campaign Medal.
Mr. Dallaire worked for the Department of Defense as a Procurement Officer in Recreational Services at the Watertown Arsenal and later at Camp Devens, MA.
As a young man, Mr. Dallaire enjoyed playing softball and coaching Little League Baseball. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and all Boston and New England sports teams.
Predeceased by his wife, Eva (Bourque) Dallaire and his daughter, Sally (Dallaire) Ferrick and his grandson, Matthew G. Dallaire, he is survived by a daughter Simone (Dallaire) Stylianopoulos and her husband David of Plaistow, two sons, Peter J. Dallaire and his wife Jacqueline, of Haverhill, and Paul J. Dallaire of Haverhill, a sister Shirley Normand of California, grandchildren, Peter M. Dallaire, Adina Sulesky, Kimberly DeCosta, Eric Stylianopoulos, Tara M. (Dallaire) Centola and Michael Ferrick, and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister Jeanne Lowther.
Due to the national health emergency, the burial service for Mr. Dallaire at Saint Joseph Cemetery will be private for family and under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
