Sandown, NH: Eric E. Leighton, 53, of Sandown, NH, died on June 9, 2018, due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
Born in Bangor, ME, the son of the late Richard E. Leighton and Priscilla (Jordan) Leighton, he attended Washington Vocational Technical College in Maine, receiving his certificate as a Diesel Technician. Eric started his career working at Hampton Motor Freight, Seabrook Truck Center and McDevitt Truck Center, leaving to start his own business. He was the proud owner of S & N Truck Repair on Route 108.
An avid hunter, he enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing in a favorite pond, Spectacle (Spec), located in Osborne, ME, motorcycling and traveling. He also enjoyed watching the Patriots and Nascar. He was a member of the NRA and a CAT certified technician.
Eric was a loving and caring husband and father with a big heart who loved helping people and always worshipped and cherished his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Suzette (Daneau) Leighton with whom he would have celebrated their 4 th Wedding Anniversary on June 14 th . He is also survived by three sons, Stefan B. Leighton of Epping, NH, Joseph Murdock of Gilmanton, NH and Justin Murdock of Eliot, ME; two daughters, Newana Neal-Dodson and her husband, Stephen of Arlington, TX and Katelyn Murdock of Sandown, NH; his mother, Priscilla (Jordan) Leighton of Amherst, ME; a brother, Brent Anderson of Epping, NH; a sister, Gail Baltz and her husband, Tim of Warrington, PA; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Taylor; a nephew, Evan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends may attend Eric's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 9:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in St. Andrew's by the Sea, 30 Church Road, Rye, NH.
