East Hampstead, NH:  Emery S. Pitman, 85, of E. Hampstead, NH, died on May 19, 2018 at his home.

Born in Danvers, MA, the son of the late John W. and Blanche (Leighton) Pitman, he was raised and educated in Danvers and attended Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, where he played basketball and graduated with the Class of 1951.

In 1950, Mr. Pitman moved to E. Hampstead and established a dairy farm on Central St. where he has remained for the rest of his life.  He also later raised replacement heifers and worked as a truck driver for Wason-MacDonald Company and as a field supervisor for Yankee Milk Co-Op/Agri-Mark.

He was a member of Holy Angels Church, Plaistow, NH, the Future Farmers of America and the Seacoast Rowers Association.   An avid Red Sox fan, Mr. Pitman enjoyed vegetable gardening and established his own farm stand and participated in local Farmers' Markets.  He enjoyed traveling, especially frequent trips to Foxwoods and to the North End with his late wife.

The widower of Lorraine (Gondolfo) Pitman, who died in 1999, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John W. "Jack" and Pamella Pitman of Sandown, NH; a daughter, Susan M. Pitman of E. Hampstead, NH and two grandchildren, Nadia and Emery Pitman.  He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Levina O'Brien, Alma Watson and Jean Pitman.

Relatives and friends may attend Emery's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 10 AM in the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date.  Donations in his name may be made to the MSPCA @ Nevins Farm, 300 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  For directions to our funeral home or to send a message of condolence to the family, please visit our website at www.brooksidechapelfh.com
