Ellena Yvette (Payette) Rowe passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 25, 2016, in Walpole, MA. She was 94.

A lifelong resident of Haverhill, she was born on December 20, 1921 to Alfred and Leonide (Sicard) Payette. She married Oran Rowe on May 3, 1941, and they had three children: David, Susan, and Alan.

Ellena was practical, determined, focused, and had a keen eye for detail. She used her talents in a variety of fields over the years, but ultimately retired from Raytheon in 1984.

She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family and share in their lives. Additionally, she was a proficient knitter, voracious reader of mystery novels, and expert apple pie baker.

She leaves behind her daughter Susan (John) Haberlin and son Alan (Susan) Rowe, and daughter-in-law Maureen Rowe, as well as 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oran; her son, David; her great grandson, Logan; and her siblings: Juliette, Camille, Roland, Richard, Yvonne, and Gabrielle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Rowe's Life Celebration on Wednesday, July 27, from 4 to 8 PM at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Thursday at 11 PM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
