Newton, NH: Ellen P. (Chaisson) Stevenson, 61, a longtime resident of Newton and formerly of Sandown, died Sunday, July 5, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Lawrence, MA, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Alma R. (Brouillard) Chaisson, and step daughter of the late Ralph Richards, Sr., she was a graduate of Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational and Technical High School and was licensed as a hairdresser. She was employed as a waitress for over twenty years at Pub Dennis which was later renamed Pub Benny's on Main St. Haverhill near the Plaistow line. For the past several years, she worked as a Customer Service Rep. for Carparts Distribution Center, Inc. of Plaistow.
A devoted and supportive mother and grandmother, Ellen enjoyed yearly trips to Disney World and Daytona Beach in Florida. She also enjoyed trips to Hampton Beach and Seabrook Beach.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her fiancé, Richard L. Taylor, of Newton, who has been her soulmate for the past twenty years, also two daughters, Jennifer L. Kuria and her husband David of Lowell, MA, and Jacqueline M. Georgopolis and her husband Michael of Newton, three sisters, Mary Corsetto and her husband Charles of Plaistow, Betty Richardson of Epping, and Jodi Riley and her husband Chester of Northwood, four brothers, Ralph "Butch" Richards, Jr. of Haverhill, Michael A. Chaisson and his wife Jody of Newton, Steven J. Chaisson of Derry, and Timothy Richards and his wife Donna of Londonderry, five grandchildren, Jacob, Mia, Alexander, Christopher and Anthony and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Susan Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellen's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Those who are attending are reminded to observe the guidelines of social distancing and face masks are required inside the funeral home. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Merrimack Valley, 5 Branch St., Methuen, MA.
