Danville, NH: Elizabeth H. "Liz" (Bither) Houghton, 61, a resident of Danville since 1992, died peacefully following a long illness on March 22, 2025, with her loving and supportive family by her side.

Born in Houlton Maine, Liz was the daughter of the late Thomas Bither and Betsy (Footrick) McAllister. She was raised and educated in several communities in the northern New England area and attended Hesser college with a focus on travel and tourism.
A devoted wife and mother, Liz enjoyed creating a warm and loving home for her husband and daughters and successfully operated a home cleaning business for several years.

She had many passions including horseback riding, walking her golden retriever(s), gardening, boating, cooking, photography, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She especially enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband David and spending quality time with her two beloved daughters.

Anyone who knew Liz will remember her as a sweetheart with a warm laugh and a beautiful smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed by her husband of thirty-six years, David A. Houghton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Meaghan E. and Jan Szymnau of Raymond NH, Allison L. and Kevin Gonyer of Newmarket NH, her golden retriever Nala May, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Melissa and Gary Connor of Sanbornton NH, Anne Mason of Greene ME, a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Indy Bither of Concord NC, her step-mother Carol Bither of Scarborough ME and several nieces, nephews, cousins, three grand pets and many loving, supportive friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home. A celebration of Liz's life will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to Granite State Dog Recovery.
