Haverhill: Elizabeth A. (Zangari) (Privitera) Burns, 92, a native and resident of Haverhill for much of her life, died Sunday, December 8, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Lena (St. Laurent) Zangari. Mrs. Burns attended Haverhill Public Schools and graduated Haverhill High School with the Class of 1950 and was a member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Rita's Parish.
Mrs. Burns was employed for twenty-five years by the Internal Revenue Service, retiring as the Branch Chief at the Centralized Services Branch in Boston with twenty-five years of service.  An avid Red Sox fan, she was devoted to her family and had a great devotion to St. Anthony. She enjoyed living in Cape Coral, Florida for twenty-one years, before returning to Haverhill.
Predeceased in 2014 by her husband Philip N. Burns, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Horace C. and Sharon Privitera, of Westford, MA, and Wayne H. and Renee Privitera of Belmont, NH, four sisters, Dolores Pacione of Plaistow, Patricia O'Connell, Carole Zangari and Cynthia Zangari, all of Haverhill, several nieces and nephews and her "fur-baby" grandchildren, Enzo, Baxter and Bailey. She was predeceased by her brothers, Herbert Zangari, Ronald Zangari, and Michael Zangari; her sisters Kathleen Gagne, Constance David, Maryanne Gucciardi, and Lorraine Bilodeau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours to be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Haverhill.
