Eleanora A. (Biernacki) Paszko
Haverhill Eleanora A. (Biernacki) Paszko, 87, of Haverhill, died peacefully on August 10, 2013, at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Paszko was born and raised in Haverhill, and she spent her childhood living on Arch Street and attended the Currier Square School, the Wingate School and Tilton School, and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1943.
After high school, Mrs. Paszko attended the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in Boston (now Bentley University). and graduated in 1945. She worked for several Haverhill businesses providing bookkeeping, accounting and payroll services, most recently retiring from Lionel Lavallee Meat Co.
Eleanora enjoyed travel throughout her life, first attending the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. She traveled extensively throughout Florida, New England and Canada, once attending the Expo 67 in Montreal, Canada. Eleanora made several trips to Europe. In particular, she was able to visit relatives and family friends living in Poland, with whom she kept in contact for several decades. Eleanora enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking for her family, sporting events, and camping in the White Mountains and along the Maine seacoast. Eleanora enjoyed history and was an avid coin collector and a member of the Philatelic Society. She was a keen shopper and enjoyed bargain hunting with dear friend, Jenny Bennett, and sister-in-law, Doris Clement, often traveling for miles to find a bargain.
Eleanora was an active member of St. Michael's Parish, and more recently she was a member and communicant of All Saints Parish. Eleanora was predeceased by her parents, Wladyslaw and Jadwiga Biernacki, and husband of 44 years, William M. Paszko, and godson, Capt. John Ogonoski of Dracut, Mass. She is survived by her two sons, William M. Paszko Jr. of Haverhill and his fiancé, Patricia Chapin, Robert Paszko of Middletown Del., and his wife, Kathleen Paszko; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Paszko of Haverhill; granddaughters, Dr. Erin Paszko of Davis, Calif., Lori Paszko of Manchester, N.H., and Megan Paszko of Philadelphia, Pa., Kaitlyn Paszko and her fiancé, Daniel Mendes of Perth Amboy, N.J.; grandsons, Brian Paszko of San Francisco, Calif., and Matthew Paszko of Philadelphia; and her three-week- old great-grandson, Lucas Daniel Mendes of Perth Amboy; and many more nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, coworkers, and friends.
William Paszko and Robert Paszko and their families wish to thank all those who helped Eleanora during her illness, including Randall Bennett CPA, Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, Visiting Nurses Association Network and VNA Hospice, Holy Family Hospital, North East Rehab, and all of Eleanora's doctors and nurses.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Monday, August 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. A private family burial service will take place in Saint James Cemetery at a later date. The family requests that those who wish to make donations in Mrs. Paszko's name, should do so to the charity one's choice.
