Atkinson, NH: Eleanor L. (Ramey) Blomquist, 97, of Atkinson, NH died on May 17, 2018 at the Hannah Duston Healthcare, Haverhill, MA.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Perley and Eva (Hitchcock) Ramey, she graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1939.
She was a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church and participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry and various other projects, and for many years was a well-known local seamstress. She enjoyed knitting, reading, family get-togethers and was a great cook for her family, and being a member of the Dastardly Domino Dames.
Mrs. Blomquist was a longtime resident of Ward Hill, MA until she moved to Plaistow, NH in 1984. For the last six years she has lived with her daughter, Janice, in Atkinson. For many years she and her husband and family enjoyed their summer home on Plum Island, Newbury, MA.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Warren Blomquist, who died in 2001 and to whom she was married for over 62 years, and is survived by two daughters, Janice Gallipeau of Atkinson, NH and Dianne Faulkner and her husband, Robert of West Newbury, MA; a son, Eric Blomquist and his wife, Roberta of Plaistow, NH; five grandchildren, Douglas Gallipeau, Kenneth Faulkner, William Faulkner, Katrina (Faulkner) Gosselin and Keri (Blomquist) Sheffield; eleven great- grandchildren, Kimberly, Amy and Mark Gallipeau, Elizabeth and Justin Faulkner, Matthew Gosselin, Frank and Mya Maragioglio and Kaylie, Erica and Julie Sheffield.
Relatives and friends may attend Eleanor's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 9 to 10 AM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the Atkinson Congregational Church, Atkinson, NH. Burial will take place in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover, MA.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center and Merrimack Valley Hospice for their services and care to Mrs. Blomquist.
