East Hampstead, NH: Eleanor M. (Blackwood) Poley, 93, of East Hampstead and formerly of Plaistow, died peacefully at her home on May 12, 2025.
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Jessie Blackwood, she was raised in Plaistow and attended Pollard School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1950.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Poley, who was known affectionately as "Meme" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their many friends, enjoyed being a housewife and homemaker, creating a warm and loving home for her family. She enjoyed cooking and Sunday family dinners at her daughter's home. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending memorable times with family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Paul Poley and her son Richard K. Poley, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Paul Lorenzetti of East Hampstead, with whom she recently made her home, granddaughters, Ashley Whitmore-Zaikowski of Hampstead, and Cara Lorenzetti of Chester, NH, three great granddaughters Keira Zaikowski, Mariah Zaikowski and Anaya Scutt.
