Eleanor G. McMurrer, age 87 of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, November 15, 2015. She was born on August 22, 1928 in Chelsea, MA the daughter of the late Samuel and Mae (Garland) Churchill. She was raised and educated in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School.

Ellie was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being a "Nana". She was a very social woman who always kept in touch with her old friends, both locally and in Kentucky. She enjoyed taking trips with her family and spending time at both York Beach, ME and Seabrook, NH. Ellie and her dear friend Marie enjoyed countless hours working on jigsaw puzzles together. She was a talented piano player who loved to play and entertain her family and friends. Ellie always took great pride working around her yard and in her garden.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph E. McMurrer of Haverhill. Her daughter, Elizabeth A. Kozerski and husband, Bruce of Edgewood, KY. Her son, Joseph E. McMurrer, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL. Her grandchildren; Justin McMurrer, Jenna McMurrer, Matthew Kozerski, Adam Kozerski and Amy Kozerski. Several siblings, nieces and nephews also survive her.

Family and friends are invited to Mrs. McMurrer's Life Celebration on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4-8 PM at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA 01832. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody, MA.
