Haverhill: Elaine M. (Caselden) Sheehan, 60, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Lahey Medical Center, Burlington, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Lawrence, daughter of the late James and Ruth (Buckley) Caselden, she was raised in Andover and was a member of the Andover High School Class of 1977. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College and began her career in education at the Early Childhood Learning Center in North Andover. She later worked for several years as a teacher at Merrimack Montessori School in Haverhill before taking a position as a Library Aid and Substitute Teacher in the Haverhill School System, primarily at the Silver Hill Elementary School.
Elaine was a faith filled woman and longtime active member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish. A devoted wife and mother, Elaine was a perfect role model for her sons, teaching them the importance of family. She understood the value of being a caring and loving member of her immediate and extended family. She appreciated the time she spent with them for holidays and special occasions and always went above and beyond to care for them. She enjoyed taking her young sons to amusement parks, concerts, trips to the beach and the mountains, as well as the many game nights that they enjoyed as a family. Her own love of music, especially Irish music and rock concerts is reflected in the collection of tickets from concerts that she attended with her loving husband Mark and their sons. Her only serious vice in life was her lifelong addiction to chocolate.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of thirty-eight years, Mark F. Sheehan, their two sons, Andrew R. Sheehan and Derek J. Sheehan, both of Haverhill, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward J. and Donna Caselden of Gloucester, Daniel P. and Ilma Caselden of San Francisco, CA, and William P. and Lisa Caselden of Derry, NH, two sisters and a brother in-law, Paula A. Caselden of North Andover, and Denise R. and Chase Hagerman of Waleska, GA, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. A private family burial service will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery. Private family calling hours will be held at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow.
