IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine Justine
(Pinkham) Eist
March 2, 1925 – April 7, 2017
Atkinson, NH: Elaine Justine (Pinkham) Eist, 92, of Atkinson, NH, and formerly of Woburn and Winthrop, MA, died on Friday evening, April 7, 2017, at her home.
Born on March 2, 1925 in East Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Sullivan) Pinkham and Justin Pinkham, and the wife of the late Julius Eist.
Elaine and Julius first met when she was 16 years old and he was a soldier at the Army base in Winthrop, MA. He asked her to dance and the long relationship was started. They married in 1945, and they continued to dance almost every weekend. She always said she lived a truly fairytale life, loved every minute with her "Prince".
It was a true love story as they started each morning before work with music, some candlelight and a dance. Elaine was happiest when the family gathered for any occasion. She had wonderful friends from across the street, Mary and the late Val Gullo, and they all shared every Friday evening together, laughing and playing cards.
During her working years, she was an electronics assembler for various companies including Sub Signal, Sylvania and Madico.
Elaine loved reading, jigsaw puzzles, gardening in her younger years and watching television in her later years. Her favorite TV show was, naturally…Dancing With the Stars. Now she is dancing among the stars, pain free, with the love of her life, Julius. "Just when the caterpillar thought her world was over…she became a butterfly."
Elaine always saw the good in everyone and very much loved her big white dog, Max. Late in her life, she advised that she really did have no regrets at all.
She leaves behind daughters, Linda Eist Bleisch and husband, George of Atkinson, NH and Nancy Cunningham Eist and partner Denise Morgan of Poland, NY, along with grandchildren, Michelle Ordway and husband Barry of Danville, NH, Craig Simas and wife, Nancy of York, Maine, Lindsay Bleisch and husband, Matthew of Atkinson, NH, De Anne O'Connell and husband, Brendan of Sandown, NH and Justin Morgan of Poland, NY. There are eight great grandchildren: Cheyenne, Cameron, Hunter, Austin, Ryan, Emily, Lainna De and Miles. Elaine was pre-deceased by her brother, Walter and sisters, Dorothy and Muriel.
Many thanks for the kindness and good care from the Rockingham County VNA and the team from Hospice.
A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
