Edwin Warren Student, 86, of Atkinson, passed away suddenly on September 26, 2019 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.

Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Irene (Queck) Student and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1950. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served his country for four and a half years, two of which were in Japan. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force he returned home where he attended Bentley College and Lowell Technological Institute, which is now the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Edwin worked at Avco in Wilmington, MA and then for Mass Port Authority Logan Airport for over thirty years where he was a big part of the many innovations at the airport as the Chief Architectural and Structural Draftsman. He commuted to Boston by way of the Haverhill train station and made many "train friends" over the years. The Friday night ride home was always their "fun" night, playing cards and other games. Edwin loved sports, especially the Red Sox, and could name all the players from the 1940's all the way up to the current roster, as well as a fan of the Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling to such favorite destinations as Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and had a great sense of humor, joking and kidding around with everyone.

Edwin served as Treasurer of the Concordia Club in Lawrence and was a member of the Atkinson Veterans Club. He was very proud to be a veteran. His last year was quiet as he faced many medical issues and just enjoyed his home and family which he loved very much.

Edwin will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Ann, his son Kevin Student, his pride and joy, his grandsons Tyler J. Student and Connor R. Student who would spend their college breaks in his home and always looking forward to those times. Edwin would always ask Betty how soon until the grandsons' next visit. He also leaves many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday October 1, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. His funeral service will begin at 1:15 PM at the funeral home followed by burial in Atkinson Cemetery.
