Watertown ----- Edwin "Eddie" Victor Scanlon, 50, passed away at Mount Auburn Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 29, 1971 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, son to Robert John and Louise (Faubert) Scanlon. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. He found his niche as a jack of all trades, maintenance man. Eddie worked for Watertown Savings Bank for many years and recently worked for the Town of Belmont.
Eddie was a charismatic, caring, giving friend to many. He often spent time on his front porch greeting and chatting with neighbors. He was a devoted father to his son, Jake. Family referred to their time spent together as the "Eddie & Jake Adventures". Their favorite thing to do together was to decorate the house for holiday's, especially Christmas. They always loved searching for and finding the biggest Christmas tree possible. In Eddie's younger years, he played golf and was an excellent swimmer.
Eddie is survived by his beloved son and best friend, Jake Barter Scanlon of Watertown, MA; loving mother, Louise Scanlon of Belmont, NH; two brothers, David Scanlon of Haverhill, MA and Mark "Mickey" Scanlon of Laconia, NH; four sisters, Karen DePasquale and her husband, Rusty of Wilmington, MA, Kathy Frassica and her husband, Joseph of Laconia, NH, Jennifer Stearns and her husband, Scott of Groveland, MA and Laura Jones and her husband, Nathan of Liberty Hill, TX; mother of their child, Kerri Barter of Watertown, MA; step-children; Dominic and Brittany Demichele, mother in law, Ellen Scafidi of Watertown, MA and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Scanlon and his Niece, Tiffany Nieves.
