Raymond, NH: Edward A. Hamilton, 91 of Raymond, died peacefully and surrounded by family, on Friday, November 18, 2022, in the memory care unit at Rockingham County Healthcare Center in Brentwood, following an extended illness.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late William and Catherine (Casazza) Hamilton, he attended local schools and was a member of the Haverhill Trade School Class of 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served as an Airman First Class during the Korean Conflict. Honorably discharged in 1956, he was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, The good Conduct Medal and The Soldiers Medal for "heroism involving voluntary risk of life".
Mr. Hamilton was a fork lift operator employed at Haverhill Paperboard Co., for thirty-seven years until his retirement in 1997, and a resident of Raymond since 1986. A member of the Korean War Veterans Post of Manchester, NH, he was thrilled and honored to be able to take part in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2016.
An avid reader, he enjoyed both organizing and visiting local yard sales, as well as trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City. He was a loyal NASCAR fan and devoted to his canine friends, and maintained his lifelong interest in airplanes by visiting air shows and local airports.
Mr. Hamilton will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted and supportive wife of sixty-five years, Nancy (Currier) Hamilton, two daughters and a son-in-law, Tamela "Tammy" and David Bouchard of Danville, and Terry L. Hamilton of Raymond, a son Edward A. "Tony" Hamilton and his spouse Mark Welch of Raymond, two grandsons, Matthew and Zachary Hamilton, a sister Roberta Comeau of Salem, NH and nieces, nephews and cousins He was predeceased by his brother William Hamilton and a sister Mary Ariemma.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and conclude with burial with Military Honors at Pine Grove Cemetery in Raymond.
