IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward L.
Goss
October 4, 1959 – June 23, 2018
Edward L. Goss, of Wilton, NH, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2018. Ed was 58 years old. He was predeceased by his father, Harry L. Goss, and is survived by his loving mother, Claudina Goss, of East Hampstead, NH; his sister, Denise (Richard), of Stonington, CT, whom he loved and admired; his sons, Steven (Alex), Matthew (Tiffany), and Thomas (Emily), whom he adored; his grandson, Andrew, whom Ed adopted and to whom he became a father; his step-children, Megan and Adam Peeler, whom he also loved as his own; his nieces, Claudia and Lauren, eight other grandchildren; and numerous cousins and extended family members. He is also survived by his former wives, Maggie Goss, of Wilton NH, and Jean Strong, of Hampstead, NH.
Ed was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he spent his early years, before moving to Hampstead, NH. He attended Northeastern University and graduated from New Hampshire Vocational College, with a degree in computer science. After twenty-five years in the corporate computer security and project management fields, Ed decided to pursue his dream, and he and Maggie opened a home-style, family restaurant, Oliver's, in Wilton, which they named after their beloved chocolate lab.
Ed loved his family, his friends, his employees, and the many customers who so enjoyed their meals and time spent at Oliver's. He was a member of the Emmaus Church in Manchester, NH, where he was the worship leader. He relished watching and playing all sports, particularly hockey, and was a lifelong Boston Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox fan. Ed was the kindest soul, with a big heart that ultimately failed him, who would do anything for his family and friends. He will be sorely missed, but not forgotten, by all who loved and knew him.
A funeral service for family members and close friends will be held at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH, on Thursday, June 28 th , at 10:15 a.m. The immediate family will be receiving visitors before the service at Brookside, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at Oliver's Restaurant in Wilton, NH, at a later date.
