Edward J. Gorski, 73, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 8, 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
The son of the late William F. and Catherine Lorraine (Lagasse) Gorski. Ed was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1970, and earned an associate degree from Northern Essex Community College. He was employed in the Engineering Department of Public Works with the City of Haverhill for thirty-five years.
Ed had a naturally outgoing personality and made meaningful connections wherever he went. He found great joy being a frequent volunteer at the All Saints Food Pantry, always looking to support those in need. Ed had a deep love for adventure and believed life was best lived on the move. Biking, fishing, and skiing as a member of Innitues Ski Club in North Conway, NH were among his favorite pastimes, but above all, Ed loved to walk. Ed was a “professional pedestrian” often spotted around town, never missing a chance to be outdoors. He also had a special place in his heart for the ocean, spending twenty-six treasured years enjoying the sun, sand and community of his beloved second home in Hampton Beach.
Ed will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his two brothers, Thomas P. Gorski and his wife, Janis of Naples, FL, Stephen A. Gorski and his wife, Linda of Portsmouth, NH, and brother in law, Michael Ferrick of Newburyport, MA, niece, Andra Haggerty, and nephews, Matthew Gorski, Alex Gorski, Zachary Gorski, Murphy Ferrick, and Liam Ferrick and his grandnieces & grandnephews. Ed was predeceased by his sister, Billie (Gorski) Ferrick.
Services for Ed will take place this spring. In his memory, please consider making a donation to the following charities that meant a great deal to Ed: Dana Farber Cancer Institute at www.danafarber.jimmyfund.org or the Greater Haverhill Boys & Girls Club at www.haverhillbgc.org/donate
