Edward J. Gallagher, Sr., 94 of Atkinson, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021, at High Pointe House in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

On March 5, 1926, Edward was born in Bangor, Maine to the late Joseph and Marion (Nye) Gallagher. He grew up in Bangor and was in the Class of 1945 at Bangor High School. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII in the 69 ^th Infantry and was seriously wounded in Germany in the closing weeks of the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, American Defense, and Victory Medal.

He had a successful career in the clothing industry, working as a buyer for a Men's store in Bangor for many years before becoming a representative for fine men's clothing manufacturers.  He worked in Manhattan, New York, and traveled the New England territory.  For many years he had a sales agency, Edward J. Gallagher & Associates, with his son and daughter.

Edward is survived by his children, Edward J. Gallagher, Jr., and his wife, Barbara of Salem, NH, Mary Lou Gallagher of Atkinson, NH. Grandchildren, Kelly Aprile, and her husband, Chris of Tewksbury, MA, Ryan Gallagher of Salem, NH. Great-grandsons, Cole and Gavin Aprile. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Constance (Merrill) Gallagher.

Edward will be interred at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Bangor, ME at a later date.
