Obituary

Kingston, NH: Edmund J. Caillouette, 92, a resident of the Town of Kingston since 1966, died January 13, 2019 at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont.

He was born in Westville, NH, son of the late Lena (Tremblay) Caillouette, and was raised in Haverhil, Massaschusetts by Napoleon and Marie Chagnon. He attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and the former Haverhill Trade School before enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Caillouette served as a Corporal and was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Following his honorable discharge from the service, he founded Ed's Plumbing and Heating Co. and was also employed by Haverhill Hardware and Haverhill Pipe. He was employed as a pipefitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for fifteen years and later served the Town of Kingston as the Building Inspector until his retirement in 1998.

A member of Saint Jude Council of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, he was also a member and Past Master of Gideon Lodge F & AM of Kingston,  St. Alban Chapter Number 15 of the Royal Arch Masons, of Exeter, The DeWitt Clinton Commandery, K.T. of Portsmouth and the Bektash Temple.

An avid bowler and member of several leagues including the West Parish Men's Bowling League, The Saint Joseph Bowling League and several mixed leagues in Exeter and Amesbury, he also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, oystering, clamming and smelt fishing on Great Bay. He was also an accomplished cook and treated his family to his wonderful Sunday Morning Breakfasts, and took great pride in his flower gardens and was interested in bird watching.

Mr. Caillouette was predeceased in 1999 by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Rita C. (Auclair) Caillouette, and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters and son- in-law, Linda Dempski, formerly of Bradford, and Susan and Thomas Lawrence of Kingston, a son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Beth Caillouette of Danville, a son-in-law Edward Sanders of Raymond, six grandchildren, Laurie Couture, Dana Dempski, Carolyn(Sanders) Harder, Britni Sanders, David Caillouette, and Jeffrey Caillouette, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Doreen Sanders in 2013,  brothers, Brother Charles Caillouette and Wilfred "Drip" Chagnon, and sisters, Alice Langlois, Eva Witham, Loretta Dolfe, Bertha Duchemin, Beatrice Hall,  Cecile LaPierre, and Albertine Moquin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A Masonic Service will follow at 4:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston.
