Atkinson, NH: Edith L. (Severance) Price, 89, a resident of Atkinson for the past sixty-three years, died June 25, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Edith was the daughter of the late Vernon and Mabel (Rogers) Severance. She was raised and educated in Lunenburg and graduated from Lunenburg High School with the Class of 1952. She went on to attend Forsythe Dental School and worked as a dental hygienist for local dentists. After moving to this area, she worked for many years for Dr. Wheeler in his Newburyport dental practice and retired in 1990.
A member of the Atkinson Congregational Church, Mrs. Price was also active with the Helping Hands Association of the parish. In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and vacations in Maine with her husband and children. She had a great appreciation for antiques, collecting all sorts during her life, proudly displaying them in her home. She also was gifted in making replicas of antique toys.
Predeceased in 2006 by her beloved husband Roy L. Price, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter, Pam E. Price and a son, Peter L. Price, both of Atkinson, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister Evelyn S. Welt and a brother Richard Severance.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Her burial will take place in Atkinson Cemetery, immediately after her service.
