Hampstead, NH: Douglas J. Torosian, 56, of Hampstead, passed away on August 19, 2021, at his home, following an extended illness.
Born in Lawrence, son of Bernice (Krukonis) Torosian and the late John Torosian, he was raised in Bradford. Doug attended Austin Preparatory High School Class of 1982. He later received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Salem State College.
Doug first worked in the Microchip industry, and in 1994, he established America by Bicycle serving as President and owner of the company. He was a member of the League of American Bicyclists and served as a director of Pedal for Power.
A fan of all the Boston and New England sports teams he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying sailing, kayaking, snowmobiling and riding his ATV. He enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Armenia with his children as well as taking them fishing on the lake.
In addition to his mother Bernice Torosian of Atkinson, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter Madelynne B. Torosian of Mount Vernon, NY, two sons, Zander J. Torosian and Thomas R. Torosian, both of Chittenago, NY; five brothers John J. Torosian and his wife Linda of Haverhill, Stephen D. Torosian and his companion Karen Palmer of Hampton, NH, Peter E. Torosian and his wife Mary Beth of Atkinson, Ed A. Torosian and his fiancé Kim Bisson of Nottingham, and Lindsey P. Torosian and his wife Cindy of Alton Bay; four sisters, Laurie A. Torosian of Atkinson, Michele and Marcia Torosian of Lansing, MI, and Marianne Frenzel and her husband Tim, of Williamston, MI; his loving companion Wendy Roosa of Waltham, MA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at a later date under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
