Keezer

Myrtle Beach, SC: Dorothy Joan Keezer, 84, a former longtime resident of Plaistow, NH, died peacefully on May 12, 2022, at Angel Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Myrtle Beach.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Carter D. and Dorothy M. (Patriquin) Keezer, she attended local schools as well as the Oak Grove School in Maine and was the President of Keezer Manufacturing of Plaistow for many years.
Joan was a licensed real estate broker and was employed for several years at Bill Bartlett Real Estate agency of Kingston NH, and Merrill-Bartlett Group Real Estate.
Well-known in the business communities of Southern New Hampshire and Haverhill, she had served as President of both the Business and Professional Women's Club of Haverhill and Kingston and was a recipient of the 1995 Woman of Achievement Award. She had also served as Director of the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, a Director of Lone Tree Council of the Boy Scouts of America, President of the Marshall Farms Condo Association of Exeter, NH, Treasurer of the New Hampshire Jobs Training Council and as a selectman of the Town of Plaistow, NH.
Joan moved to Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club several years ago and was a special event planner and coordinator related to her love of crafts.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, William Russell of Myrtle Beach, four sons, Burton K. Pecukonis of Plaistow, NH, Breton E. Pecukonis of Sandown, NH, Kristin T. Pecukonis of Somerville, MA, and Quintin K. Pecukonis of Woodsville, NH, a brother Richard Keezer of Neosho, MO, and an aunt, Marilyn Savory of Brentwood, NH, and several cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Jayson P. Pecukonis and a brother Carter D. Keezer II.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joan's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A Service of Remembrance will take place at 5:30 pm in the Funeral Home. A private family burial service will be in the family lot of Plaistow Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like those who wish to consider a that a memorial donation be made to: The Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown PA 18901 ( www.DementiaSociety.org ) or to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org .
