Dorothy Kay Schmidt, age 94, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, the beloved wife of the late Daniel Charles Schmidt, passed into eternal life in the Lord Jesus Christ on June 24, 2020. Dorothy was born in Detroit Michigan and raised in a family of seven in that city and upon her marriage to the love of her life Dan Schmidt, she became his life's companion and best friend until his death in 2015. Together they raised a family of three children, and both lived happily together to see four grandchildren born and raised. Her greatest joy was her ministry to her family and to others, especially in loving and caring for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Dorothy loved to cook and bake, to sew and quilt, to clean (she kept a clean home!) and also was periodically a host to church events and home bible studies …She also loved to travel with her late husband Dan to visit other people and places and also enjoyed attending her church faithfully throughout her entire life.  Dorothy went to heaven, being saved by placing her faith in her crucified and risen Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was loving, patient, kind, humble … a happy person and wonderful wife and the best of caregivers to her children and grandchildren as she raised them in charity and longsuffering.  Dorothy was quiet but not shy, friendly but not overbearing, never needing to be in the limelight and was happy in that she knew it was more blessed to give than to receive. She is survived by her daughter Jeaneane Tracy and her husband Paul Tracy of Atkinson, New Hampshire; her son Christopher Schmidt and his wife Judy of Overland Park, Kansas; and her son Daniel Schmidt and his wife Susan of Saint Johns, Florida; along with grandchildren Matthew Tracy, Jordan Tracy, Carolyn Schmidt and Sarah Schmidt.
