East Hampstead, NH: Dorothy L. "Dot" (Dumais) Godin, 85, a resident of East Hampstead for the last sixteen years, died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA, surrounded by her family.
Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA, daughter of the late Phillip and Marguerite (LaPlante) Dumais, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Lawrence, with the Class of 1952. She later received her Associates Degree in Human Services from Castle Junior College in Windham and was employed in the Accounting Department of Dynamic Research Corp of Andover until her retirement at the age of seventy.
A resident of Salem, NH from 1961 until moving to East Hampstead in 2004, she was presently an active member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead, and a former longtime member of Saint Joseph Parish of Salem. Mrs. Godin enjoyed cooking and vacationing along the Maine coast.
Predeceased by her loving husband of forty-four years, Robert Godin, in 1999, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Bless of Candia, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Barbara Godin of Auburn, NH, Mark Godin of Wolfeboro, NH, and Steven and Eleanor Godin of East Hampstead, a brother Phillip "Joe" Dumais and his wife Darlene of El Paso, Texas, a sister-in-law Alice Dumais of Methuen, MA, grandchildren Blake Bless and his wife, Jennifer of Goffstown, Tyler Bless and girlfriend, Tiffany Rock of Manchester, Kevin Godin and his wife Alexandra of Dover, Caitlyn (Godin) Marino and her husband Brad of Rochester, Jennifer Godin and boyfriend, Bobby Burgoyne of Merrimack, NH and Elizabeth (Godin) Cooper and her husband John of Danville, also eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Dumais.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday evening February 13, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Friday at 8: 45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover, MA. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Food Pantry of Saint Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH.
