Sandown, NH: Dorothy A. Fawcett, 62, a longtime resident of Sandown, died peacefully on November 6, 2021 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late William and Gloria (Proulx) Fawcett and was raised and educated in Sandown and attended Timberlane Regional High School.
Dorothy was employed as a machinist at Sanmina Corporation in Manchester. She attended Saint Anne's Church in Hampstead and enjoyed bird watching. Her favorite bird was a cardinal, and she liked collecting pictures of lions, and loved hot air balloons. A big New England Patriots and NASCAR fan, she was accomplished at knitting and crocheting and completed several afghan blankets. She was a fan of Luke Bryan, and enjoyed country music and completing jigsaw puzzles.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Eric W. Fawcett, formerly of Salem, NH and Ryan J. Ward of Haverhill, MA a grandson Leo Ward, also of Haverhill, five brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Candy Fawcett of Suffolk, VA, Donald and Linda Fawcett of Haverhill, William and Vicky Fawcett of Farmington, NH, Michael and Chris Fawcett of Dover, NH, and John and Bonnie Fawcett, of Las Vegas, NV, a sister Mary Fawcett of Denver CO, and several nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. She was predeceased in 2016 by her brother, Raymond Fawcett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours to be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home and followed by burial in Center Cemetery in Sandown, NH.
