Groveland: Dorothy Jean Bennett, 78, of Groveland, MA, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

She was born in Haverhill on January 29, 1942, daughter of the late Willis and Jennie (Villetta) Bennett. For the past eighteen years, Dorothy has resided with her caretaker, Sandra Cerasuolo.

Dorothy enjoyed going to Opportunity Works and Sarah's Place in Haverhill. She also enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles, knitting, cutting and pasting, watching popular classic movies and 80's television shows including The Golden Girls, and dining out at local restaurants. She loved animals and knew the names of everyone's pets.

She is survived by her sister, Judith Swanburg and her husband, Lloyd, of Atkinson, NH, and a niece, Carol Swanburg of Orlando, FL, and several cousins. She will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by, her caretaker Sandra Cerasuolo, of Groveland and her children and extended family, Kristin (Cerasuolo) Anderson of Oregon, Darren Cerasuolo of Epping, NH, Kevin Cerasuolo and his companion Jennefer Collette of Groveland and Katelyn Forisso of Groveland, and the family pets "Lucy" and "Teddy".

Due to the National Health Crisis, funeral services will be held at a later date under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow, with burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
