Dorothy E. (Johnson) Avery, 91, of Ayer, MA, formerly of Newton Junction, died on June 21,2024 at Ayer Valley Nursing Center in Ayer, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilton Avery.

She was born in East Hampstead on November 13, 1932 and was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Kaulback) Johnson.

Dorothy was raised and educated in Hampstead, NH. She was employed as a line worker at Kellogg's Inc. and later as an inspector at AT&T. Dorothy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Newton Junction, where is she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her daughters Amy DeSantis and her husband Robert of San Jose, CA and Joanna Dumas and her husband Tim of Ayer, MA, her grandchildren Derek DeSantis, Seth DeSantis and Nina DeSantis, and her great grandchildren Trent DeSantis and Keenan DeSantis.

Her funeral and interment will be held privately.
