Hampstead, NH: Dorothy A. (Gaumont) Auger, 77, of Naples, Florida and a former resident of Hampstead, died peacefully in Hampstead, on Saturday, October 13, 2018, with her loving and supportive family by her side.

Born, raised and educated in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Roland and Lillian (Dowd) Gaumont, she was a member of the Manchester Central High School, Class of 1959 and was the drum majorette for the High School Band.

A resident of Hampstead from 1963 until 2008, Mrs. Auger was primarily a housewife and homemaker and during the 1980's was a volunteer Title 1 assistant at the Hampstead Middle School. She was a former member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead, where she had served as a C.C.D. teacher and had also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and as a Lioness member of the Hampstead Lions Club. A resident of Naples for the past ten years, she served as the Secretary for the Ladies 18- Hole Club at Quail Creek Village Golf Club.

An avid reader, she also enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting and was an accomplished cook and baker who devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home for her husband and children.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul J. Auger, a daughter Michelle S. Auger, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Marc P. and Christine Auger, Matthew W. and Kristin Auger, Michael R. Auger, and Martin D. and Stacey Auger, all of Hampstead, a brother R. Robert Gaumont of Manchester, two sisters, Gloria Hendry of Grafton, MA and Liane Luke of Boston, eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Robert, Michael, Jeffrey, Thomas, Nicholas, Ryan and Lily, and a great-grandson Robert Henry McHardy, who brought great happiness to her during the last several days her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dorothy's Life Celebration to be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main ST., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Lake View Cemetery.
