Obituary

Doris L. (Gifford) Fraser, 99, a resident of Fremont, NH., died on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Colonial Poplin Assisted Living Facility in Fremont, NH. She was the beloved wife of Allister F. Fraser who passed away in 2020.

She was born in Georgetown, MA., on January 11, 1925 and was the daughter of Herbert and Oneitta (Leeman) Gifford. Doris was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1943. She was employed at Hytron in Newburyport, and the mailroom at the former Bradford College. Doris later took a position as an inspector at Western Electric, she stayed there until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers, Western Pioneers, and the Western Electric bowling league. Doris loved spending summers at Shell Camp Lake in Gilmanton, NH. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, bingo and was active with the Boy Scouts as a den mother. Doris attended Riverside Memorial Church for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Doris is survived by her children David G. Fraser and his wife Jean of Hampstead, NH., and Kevin A. Fraser and his wife Gloria of Gilmanton, NH., her grandchildren Amanda Fraser and Kevin Fraser and his fiancée Amelia McCaffrey, her sister Jo-Ann Leppard of Concord, NH., and her brother Lawrence Beekler.

She was sadly predeceased by her brothers Earle Gifford and Robert Beekler.

Doris's family would like to thank Harborside Hospice of Plaistow for the exceptional care given to both Doris and her family.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 9:30am – 11:30am at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:45am. Interment in Cowles Cemetery, Ipswich, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harborside Hospice of Plaistow, NH at hospicellc.com.
