Obituary

Haverhill, MA; Doreena Mae Smith 74, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, following complications from surgery, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lawrence, raised and educated in Bradford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter to the late Hector and Elaine (Driscoll) Thompson.  She met her perfect match, Wayne Smith, by chance, rounding a corner and bumping into one another, and falling in love. After settling in Haverhill with her husband, she began working for Timberlane School District. With her love for cooking, she was happily employed for over seventeen years before retiring.

Doreena was naturally a homebody, she enjoyed the classic Television Shows such as Little House on the Prairie on MeTv, cooking, baking, and tending to her potted plants. She loved trips up the New England Coast, pit stopping at the beautiful beaches along the way. Above all, she adored time with her family. Doreena cherished the memories she made with her grandchildren.

Doreena is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of thirty years, Wayne Smith of Haverhill, MA; three sons, Michael Smith of Lawrence, MA, William "Willy" Duquette and his fiancée, Tabitha of Salem, NH and Dennis Duquette of Florida; daughter, Aimee Crocker and her husband, Matt of Bradford, MA; three loving grandchildren, Nolan Crocker, Hannah Duquette and Nicholas Duquette; three brothers, David Thompson and his wife, Jeannie, Kevin Thompson all of Haverhill, MA and Micky Thompson of Bradford, MA. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother James Thompson and her two sisters, Karen, and Janice.
