Haverhill: Doreen A. (Cranton) Ciarletta, 66, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

The daughter of Virginia (Stanley) Cranton and the late Calvin Cranton, Doreen attended local schools and was a member of the Haverhill High School. Class of 1975, where she was a member of the school chorus and played clarinet in the school band. Following graduation, she went on to receive her associate degree in Restaurant Management from Essex Agricultural and Technical institute.

Doreen first worked as the manager of the Yum-Yum Shop in Haverhill and later, as she began to raise her family, she scaled back to work as a cake decorator for the bakery. She also was employed as a preschool teacher at the Hilltop Daycare in Haverhill and later as the Activities Director at the Nevins Adult Day Care in Methuen and finally in the capacity of Activities Aide at Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover.

A lifelong member of the West Congregational Church, Doreen was a member of the parish choir and the Mothers' Club of the church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, she was especially dedicated to her six grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, card making and other crafts and was a longtime participant in The Great Escape Weekend with some of her dearest friends.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-four years, Richard Ciarletta, a son and daughter-in-law, Jovin and Jillian Ciarletta of Salem, NH, two daughters, Gineanne Ciarletta and her loving companion, Todd Paul, of Hampton, NH, and Cailen Pillsbury and her husband, Brandon of Allenstown, NH; her mother Virginia (Stanley) Cranton of Haverhill, her sister Ruth Cranton of Haverhill, a brother, Richard Boynton and his wife Carol of Haverhill, her Ecuadorian sister, Cinthia Proano, of Haverhill, six grandchildren, Everett, Wesley, Annalise, Calvin, Maraio, and Morgan; and nieces, nephews aunts uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Doreen's Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 12 o'clock noon at the West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the church and conclude with her burial service in Hillside Cemetery, (directly across the street from the church). A reception will be held immediately afterwards in the church.
