Obituary

Donny M. Adams, 81, a resident of Newton, NH died on Thursday, January 15, 2026 after a brief illness at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cindi (Brewer) Adams with whom he shared 56 years.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 18, 1944 and was the son of the late Alton and Lillie (Dove) Adams. Donny was raised and educated in Sherman, Texas.

His work ethic began as a child at 7, helping the neighborhood store owner stock shelves on Saturday mornings. During his high school years he worked at Burlington Industries, the same business that both parents were employed. He proudly served his country by enlisting in 1967 in the United States Army. He served in Turkey for 2 years and then at Ft Devens in Massachusetts where he met his wife.  While serving at Ft Devens he earned the US Army's Sharp Shooter metal among others. They married on March 21, 1969 . After his honorable discharge from the Army, Donny became a police officer in Sherman, Texas. He later owned and operated a Sonic Drive-In alongside his wife in Plano, Texas. His daughter Cybill was born in 1973, and his son Brewer in 1975, they then moved to Haverhill, MA, and had Amanda in 1978. He was employed as a letter carrier with the USPS for twenty-five years until his retirement in 2007.

Donny's most enjoyment came from being with his family. His hobbies included carpentry, manufacturing and anything his wife was working on as a DYI project. He also enjoyed Tole Painting. Donny's horses were his passion. He bought a 2 year old secured credit in 1998 and he still lives the retired life here at 30! Donny showed at American Quarter Horse shows and locally was a 30 year member of Silver Heels Riding Club and served many years in the Club's Treasurer. He owned standard bred race horses, that were trained by his son, Brewer .

Donny was truly a man of many talents and loved by everyone ever meeting him. His southern Texas personality was calming and humble, he never spoke poorly of anyone. He has passed on many talents to his grandchildren and was proud to watch them grow.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, daughter, Cybill Beadoin and her husband Jason and their son, Brett, of Haverhill, MA, his son, Brewer of Lebanon, Ohio and his partner Jessica Gray and their daughter, Marjorie (Maggie), his step children, Ava, Ella and Victor Gray, his daughter Amanda Payson of Dover, Deleware, grandsons, CJ and Caleb.  Donny also leaves his sister, Patricia Womack of Denison, Texas, nieces, Linicia Humphries and her husband Ricky of Athen, Texas, Jessica Walters and her husband, Thad Denison of Texas, his nephews Mitchell Adams and Ben Wheeler of Texas, his sisters-in-law Donna Brewer of Newburyport, MA and Evelyn Brewer of Haverhill, MA. He was sadly predeceased by Shirley and Glenn Adams, his nephew Lynn Adams, his brother-in-law Irving "Skip" Brewer, Ray Womack, and his father and mother-in-law Irv and Marge Brewer.
