Obituary

Donna Jeanne (Cartier) Sullivan, age 82, a resident of Ocala, FL, died on Monday, April 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul Sullivan with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Besides her husband, Donna is survived by her sons Paul Sullivan Jr, and his wife Sherri, Scott Sullivan and his wife Susan, and Michael Sullivan, her grandchildren Amanda, Kyle, Adam, Erin, Tyler, Victoria, and Devin, her great grandchildren James, Jacob, Emma, Max, Brynlee, and Arthur, her siblings Blanche Roberts, Celeste Morse, George Cartier, Abbott Cartier, and Patricia Berger.

She was predeceased by her sister Jackie Bodden and her parents George and Blanche Cartier.

Donna was born on April 7, 1943, in Winchester, Massachusetts, where she was raised and educated. A proud member of the Winchester High School, Class of 1961, Donna led a life marked by service, creativity, and faith.

She attended Chamberlain Junior College, Boston, MA and moved with family to Fort Meyers, Florida and attended Edison Junior College.

Returning with her family to Winchester, MA, she worked for Lahey Clinic in Boston until she got married to Paul Sullivan in December 1964. Donna worked for T.J. Maxx, the Town of Atkinson and the Town of Danville, New Hampshire as an administrator.

Donna dedicated twenty-seven years as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Atkinson Fire Department, retiring with the deepest respect from her colleagues and the community that relied on volunteer services as they did not have paid fire or EMT personnel at that time.

As a testament to her courage and compassion, during her service she responded to the 1995 Malden Mills fire in Methuen, MA. and was featured in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune with a photo capturing Donna pulling a wounded firefighter from the fire on a stretcher.

Donna also saved an infant on Route 495 in the Foxborough, MA. area that was not breathing and blue before Paul and Donna convinced the six women to allow her to help the baby. Finally after 6 cycles of trying to save the baby, Donna cleared the large obstruction in the child's airway and the baby was revived.

Beyond her service, Donna found joy in photography, painting, music, playing bocce, dancing and traveling. She was a devoted parishioner of Queen of Peace Parish in Ocala, Florida.
