Obituary

Donna P. (Lister) Lamprey, age 69, of Hampstead, NH passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with leukemia over the past 3 years. She was the beloved wife of Stephen A. Lamprey Sr., with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

She was born in Lawrence, MA on September 18, 1954, and was the daughter of the late C. Howard, Jr. and Ethel (Bourdelais) Lister. Donna and her family moved to Plaistow when she was a child. She was a graduate of Timberlane High School, Class of 1972. She was employed as a teacher's assistant in the Timberlane School district for well over twenty years, spending most of that time at Pollard School in Plaistow, NH.

Donna will be fondly remembered for her loving and caring nature. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a true caretaker to her loved ones and all the children who passed through her classroom. Her generosity was remarkable and anywhere she went she always had a treat or gift for everyone she knew she would see. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her husband, son, daughter-in law, and her grand-doodles. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first grandchild, and she was extremely excited to become a nana. She loved to cook and always made enough to feed a large crowd. She made the best brownies which were always requested for any event, though she kept the recipe top secret. She enjoyed taking trips up to the White Mountains with her husband. She even once climbed Mount Washington with her sister Charlene and, despite at one point exclaiming "Leave me for the bears!", she made it to the top and back down.

During her time at Pollard, she became known for her "magic bag" in which she carried pencils and stickers that she would give to each student on their birthday. Over the years, it expanded to students outside of her classroom and she always made sure not to forget anyone. She also spent some time working in the school cafeteria during which time she began to sponsor one or two children each year who needed school lunch assistance. She left her mark on everyone she came across during her time at Pollard, students and faculty alike, and will always be remembered for her kindness.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Stephen A. Lamprey Jr. and his wife, Erin of Plaistow, NH, her siblings, Robert Lister and his wife, Cynthia of Portsmouth, NH, C. Howard Lister, III and his wife, Gretchen of Saukville, WI, and Diane Ashford and her husband, George of Northwood, NH, her aunt and uncle, Irene and George Hobbs of Salem, NH, her brother-in-law, Raymond Lamprey and his wife, Kathleen of Haverhill, MA, her sister-in-law, Jadine Lister of Marengo, IL, her close friend (and mother of her daughter-in-law) Suzanne Ouellette, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, John "Jack" Lister and her sister, Charlene Lister.

At Donna's request, funeral service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorial donations be made to Pollard School to help children in need of school lunch assistance. Donations can be made out to "TRSD Lunch Program", and sent c/o Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  Please mark on the memo section of the check "Pollard School -- Donna Lamprey".
