Haverhill: Donna A. (Florent) Demers, 69, of the Bradford section of Haverhill, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Boston Medical Center, after falling ill at her home on Monday.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts and raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Elaine R. (Desrosiers) Florent. Donna attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1970. She furthered her education in the nursing program at Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute in Hawthorne, MA, and was first employed at local nursing homes as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was a former co-owner and operator of Eastern Plate Glass of Haverhill with her husband, Norman J. Demers, who predeceased her in 2001. For the past 18 years, Donna was a loyal, hard-working and dedicated employee of the Roma Restaurant in Bradford, assisting with front desk duties, waitressing, and event coordinating. She never missed a day of work, sharing her kind and gentle spirit with many coworkers and patrons. She especially loved getting to know her customers.

A lifelong member of All Saint Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, Donna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her career, and made many friends throughout the Haverhill and Merrimack Valley area.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa M. and Jason Phillips of Haverhill, her granddaughter, Alivia M. Phillips, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter W. and Susan Florent of Haverhill, Michael P. and Anne Marie Florent of Newburyport, and Joseph A. and Dee Florent of Haverhill, five sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa M. and Jerry Romotsky of Salisbury, Denise E. and Wally Hamel of Durham, NH, Anne Marie Mede of Haverhill, Mary E. and Roger Harriman of Bradford, and Michele T. and Randy Perillo of Stoneham, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Paul G. Florent.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donna's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. Her funeral will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.
