Donald A.
Brown
Jan 24, 1945 — Oct 6, 2026
Donald Anderson Brown, 81, of Tampa, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
Don was born in Bangor, Maine, the son of the late Hoyt and Alice (Anderson) Brown. A graduate of the University of Maine, Bangor, Don earned his MBA from Rivier University. After serving in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve from 1968-1974, Don worked managing hotels in Texas and New Hampshire before turning his career to education, where he met his wife, Linda. He earned certification as a school business administrator. At his retirement he was a senior budget analyst for Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Don enjoyed playing the piano, swimming at his lakeside homes, listening to music, and reading extensively. He regularly attended church and passed his faith down to his grateful family. He was happiest traveling by train throughout the United States and Europe with his family.
Don and Linda spent the first fourteen years of their retirement in North Carolina before moving to Tampa, Florida, to be closer to their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Don is survived by his wife, Linda (Mostrom); his daughter, Catherine Alexandrov, and her husband, Kiril, and their children, Stefan, Jack, Annika, and Rex, of Cambridge, MA; his daughter, Susan DeBake, and her husband, Andrew, and their children, Victoria and Jay, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and his son, Andrew Brown, and his wife, Sara (Ortbals), and their children, Adeline, Serena, and Julian, of Tampa, FL.
Don is predeceased by his sister, Lois (Brown) Libby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, from 10:00am - 12:00pm, at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home in Plaistow, NH. Funeral service and interment immediately to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory can be made to his favorite nonprofit, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association: https://giving.billygraham.org/honor-memorial/
