Belmont, NH: Dolores B. (Sweeney) Chabot, 93, a resident of Belmont since 2004 and a former longtime resident of Atkinson for fifty years, died suddenly of natural causes on August 14, 2015 at her home.
Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Panneton) Sweeney, she attended St. James Grammar School and was a member of St. James Parish as a child.
As a young woman, Mrs. Chabot worked in the local shoe industry but spent most of her adult life as a housewife and homemaker to her husband and children. She devoted her life to caring for her disabled son, Michael, who predeceased her in 2009. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Chabot's family was most important to her.
She was the wife of the late Rodolphe Chabot, who died in 2003, and is survived by three sons, Robert P. Chabot and his wife Ladida of Atkinson, Kevin J. Chabot of East Hampstead, NH, and Steven W. Chabot and his wife Kathy of Fremont, NH, two daughters, Ann M. Chabot, with whom Mrs. Chabot made her home in Belmont, and Susan P. Chabot of Newton, NH, a brother, Richard H. Sweeney of Salem, NH, three sisters, Dorothy E. Ashford of Plaistow, Marjorie M. Scanlon of Atkinson, and Jeannette E. Rundle of Kingston, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael F. Chabot, and her brother, Joseph J. "Leo" Chabot.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Atkinson Cemetery.
