Merrimac, MA: Dianne (LaPierre) Weeks, 79, formerly of Haverhill, West Newbury, MA and Plum Island, died peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
Born in Portsmouth, NH, daughter of the late Urbain and Mary C. (Hardiman) LaPierre, she was raised and educated in Haverhill. Dianne attended Saint James Grammar School and was a member of the Saint James High School Class of 1962, and also attended Northern Essex Community College.
Dianne was employed for thirty years at Western Electric Co, AT&T Technologies and Lucent Technologies until her retirement. She then returned to school and was licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and began her second career. She especially enjoyed the direct patient care that she provided while employed at Penacook Place, Home Instead, and other local nursing facilities.
A member of Sacred Hearts Parish of Bradford, Dianne was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed walking on the beach and playing golf with Di's Divots, a beginner's league that she established at Evergreen Golf Club in Newburyport.
Dianne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Cathrine M. "Kate" Donovan and her partner Thomas Germain, of Merrimac, Beth M. Durkee and her husband Craig of Newburyport and Dianne Jeanne Judson and her husband Robert Jr. of Merrimac, her brother William F. LaPierre, of Haverhill, sister-in-law, Anne LaPierre, of Newburyport, her former husband Thomas Weeks, of Florida, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald A. LaPierre, John A. LaPierre, and Kenneth LaPierre, her sister, Mary Lois LaPierre, and sisters-in-law, Karen LaPierre and, Frances LaPierre, and her father-in-law Kenneth Weeks.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dianne's Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m.in Sacred Hearts Church, South Main Street., Bradford, MA. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery. Dianne's favorite color was purple. The family is asking if you are attending her services, would you please wear something purple.
