East Hampstead, NH: Dennis A. Herrick, 62, of East Hampstead died on April 22, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA with his sister, Cindy and brother-in-law David by his side.
Born is Exeter, NH, and raised and educated in Plaistow, NH, son of the late Stanley and Claire (Mattinson) Herrick, he attended Pollard School and Haverhill High School and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1969. He went on to attend Elmira College in New York.
Mr. Herrick worked for Gare Ceramics, Digital Equipment Corporation, and as a Systems Administrator at KLA-Tencor, from where he retired.
A man of eclectic interests, Dennis enjoyed taking pottery classes and raising orchids. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed trips to Japan. Through his travels, he developed an appreciation for Japanese and Mexican food and décor. One of his favorite places to visit was Vancouver Island where he planned to relocate with a chocolate labrador retriever that he planned on adopting. He also enjoyed the occasional excursion to Cape Cod, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and train trips to anywhere.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and David Simard of Plaistow, a sister-in-law, Martha Herrick of Auburn, NH, two nephews, David Simard, and Christopher Simard and his wife Christine, a niece, Jennifer (Herrick) D'Amelio and her husband Craig, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his twin brother, David A. Herrick.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 4 to 6:45 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH.
